TGAC Review

Fast, thorough TGAC reviews for therapeutic goods advertising across all media.

Navigating the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code (TGAC) can be challenging-especially with complex rules and evolving interpretations.

From understanding the consumer health product advertising rules to ensuring your advertising complies with the regulations, it can be hard to avoid compliance issues alone. From claims to placement, even well-intentioned advertisements can fall short of compliance. That’s where AdCheck comes in. Our expert team provides clear, reliable reviews to help you meet your legal obligations, avoid costly penalties, and maintain trust with your customers.

What is the TGAC Review process?

The Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code outlines the rules for advertising therapeutic goods in Australia. This includes medicines, medical devices, and other consumer health products. Advertisements for these goods must meet strict requirements set by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) to ensure that they are truthful, balanced, and not misleading to the public.

The AdCheck review process helps ensure that your advertisement complies with the requirements of the TGAC.

How does the AdCheck TGAC Review process work?

Our advertising compliance services guide you through the advertising approval process ensuring your advertisements are fully compliant with consumer health product advertising rules.

Step 1
Submit Ad For Checking

Submit your advertisement through the AdCheck Vault application.

Multiple advertisements/campaigns can be submitted simultaneously for any medium.

Step 2
Expert Assessment

Once submitted, our AdCheck experts assess your advertisements.

Our team reviews your content for full compliance with the TGAC and associated instruments.

Step 3
Compliance Guidance

Should any issues arise, we don’t just point them out. We offer expert advice on how to address and correct them.

If an advertisement cannot be made compliant, AdCheck will close the application (please note, there are no ‘rejected’ applications, just closed ones). Our goal is to ensure you have the clarity and support to make your advertising compliant.

Step 4
Verification Issued

Once your advertisement passes the review, we’ll issue a Certificate of Conformance with a unique AdCheck number.

This AdCheck number can be put into the advertisement so that other stakeholders are aware it has been reviewed by AdCheck.

Why choose AdCheck?

Most of our Advertising Compliance Consultants have worked as Advertising Services Managers at Consumer Healthcare Products Australia, previously delegated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration to provide mandatory pre-approvals of therapeutic goods advertising to consumers.

We have extensive experience assessing the compliance of therapeutic goods advertising, and continue to provide training on the regulatory environment around therapeutic goods advertising. We have also completed the relevant training for providing TVC classifications.

We understand that your time is valuable. That’s why we pride ourselves on a fast turnaround time. Our standard TGAC review process has a response time of less than 2 business days. We also offer an expedited service for urgent requests, providing feedback within 4 business hours (Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm AEST/AEDT). From concept consults for early-stage campaigns to detailed classification reviews for television commercials (TVCs), AdCheck covers every aspect of advertising compliance.

We don’t just tell you what’s wrong. We give you the guidance you need to make it right.

Do you offer an expedited service?

Yes. The expedited service guarantees a first response within 4 business hours (business hours are 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, excluding public holidays and announced closure days, for example, Christmas break).
